His or Hers Fashion / Future of Menswear

Symposium 2016: Blurred Lines with Vogue Hommes, Erica Toogood and Mr Porter

As the gender divide in fashion design becomes narrower, with girls borrowing from the boys and vice versa, and with an increasing number of brands choosing to show their men’s and women’s collections together, this panel interrogates the current state of menswear fashion from an industry perspective while also asking, to what extent is this trend alienating to the everyday male customer?

Featured Panellists:

Azza Yousif, Fashion Editor – Vogue Hommes BIO
Erica Toogood, designer of Toogood Unisex Outerware BIO
Martyn Bal, Menswear Designer and Style Director BIO

Moderator Adam Welch, Mr Porter BIO

GCU’s unique postgraduate MSc International Fashion Marketing programme explores fashion in a holistic sense. Fashion is not confined to clothing and accessories – indeed, in the modern world, it plays a critical role in the spaces in which we live and work, the technology that enables our lives, and in our choices of recreation and entertainment.

‘Fashion as fundamental to the lifestyle movement’ is a subject we not only discuss and research but also generate and create through creative thought and practical projects. Hence we are delighted to sponsor this symposium on the way we (fashionistas) live…and of course, shop!
